A Health Promotion Officer focuses on improving community health by promoting practical lifestyle changes, preventing illness, and supporting local health initiatives through direct engagement and education.

Key Responsibilities

* Promote healthy lifestyles within communities
* Educate individuals on disease prevention and basic health practices
* Plan and run health awareness campaigns and outreach programs
* Support community health initiatives and public health projects
* Engage with individuals, families, and groups to encourage positive health choices
* Assist with basic health screenings and referrals where needed
* Work with healthcare teams and community stakeholders
* Conduct home visits and community outreach activities
* Identify common health risks within communities
* Provide guidance on hygiene, nutrition, and daily health practices
* Support vaccination and wellness campaigns
* Keep basic records of community activities and feedback
* Encourage early healthcare seeking behaviour
* Assist in organizing health events and workshops
* Follow workplace health and safety guidelines
